So the husband and I came home past dinner time on a Friday night from a business rampa. On occasions like this, we normally bring home some take away food as pasalubong so we have some food to eat in case we get hungry pag dating ng mid-night. But tonight, we are not able to bring some take-aways so we decided to order from Shakeys na lang since January 27 (2017) fell on Chinese New Year's eve din naman.
So I called up their hotline 77-777 and ordered a normal size Managers Choice, a Garlic and Cheese Pizza and a liter of Coke zero.
As with our previous orders, okay naman. They were never late. But tonight is a different thing.
The staff who got my order asked me to synchronise my time at 10:41. She told me to expect the time of delivery at 11:21pm.
12 midnight na, there still has no sign of the delivery guy :( So I called to follow up. The girl from their delivery trunkline told me to free up my line as she would follow up to the branch where our pizzas would be coming from.
12:10 am - still no call from them for a feedback.
At 12:20 am, I tried to contact their hotline once again. Just as I was about to ask them on what is taking them so long, I already heard the motorbike of the delivery guy.
Alam nyo yung "reverse psychology" na ginagawa natin sa parents natin dati when they are mad? Na- ganun kami ni Kuya Rider. Na -reverse psychology kami ni kuya. hahaha! (joks lungs!)
But kidding aside, of course we were happy with our free pizzas and drink.
We are actually already a regular Shakey's delivery customer and kuya rider who delivered today was always the guy each time we placed an order for delivery. They were never late before. Only tonight lang so we felt guilty naman and so I asked him these:
Me: "Baka naman kuya sayo i-charge yang bill ha, if you will shoulder it, never mind. We are not after for a free pizza."
Kuya Rider: "No, yung branch po".
Me: "Bakit ba kasi na-late and delivery nyo ngayon. And kuya nakakaloka, 1 hour late ahh. "
Me: "O sige kuya, Gong Hei Fat Choy ah. Mag-iingat ka. 'wag masyado magkaskas sa pagdrive ng motor" ~
So we accepted the free pizzas and drink very happy, guilt-free. What makes us even happier is Shakey's stayed true to their promise that if it’s late, it’s FREE to satisfy and keep their customers happy.
Happy Chinese New Year Indeed!

We had the same and found out that they charge the FULL fee to the poor driver who was given the delivery late to begin with :(
