In its bid to bolster the network’s cartoon
block, TV5 is pleased to bring the highly entertaining and immensely successful
Winx Club series to the Philippines as part of the company’s position to offer
its viewers a different kind of entertainment.
“We are
deeply honored to have the Winx Club brand as part of our network’s premium animated
content. We’ve always positioned ourselves as a
challenger brand,” says TV5 President Chot Reyes. “We wanted
to do things that haven’t been done before -that you cannot see in the other
networks. This partnership with Winx Club allows us to do so.”
Dubbed
in Tagalog, the series follows
the adventures of six fairies led by Bloom, an ordinary girl who discovers
she's actually a fairy with extraordinary powers. Bloom learns to use her magical powers at the finest fairy school in all
the realms, Alfea College. At school, she meets her new best friends, Stella,
Flora, Musa, Tecna and Aisha, and forms the Winx Club. Together, they study
hard in school, hang out at their favorite spots in Magix and go on lots of
exciting adventures. When faced with trouble, they transform into beautiful
fairies and save the world from all sorts of villains, like The Trix, a trio of
evil witches. But for these six fairies, nothing can defeat their powerful
magic and even stronger friendship.

“Winx Club was
launched in the Philippines years back but we had to be absent for a quite a
long time as we couldn’t find the right network to partner with,” says Kumar Naryana - Managing Director. “So we’re very happy that we found TV5, a network that shares the same
vision with us.”
This
partnership is sure to excite fans of the Winx Club who have been clamoring for
the arrival of the fairies in our shores. The series airs every Sunday, from
11:00am to 11:30am on TV5.
