Tanduay Rum continues to be the only spirit brand to sponsor the award ceremonies of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which is more popularly known as the Emmy Awards. This is the second time the company is sponsoring the highly anticipated show.
The Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 22, 2019 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California. While a list of nominees has yet to be released, it is expected to be a tight race among fan favorites.
“Tanduay’s sponsorship of the Emmy Awards is in line with our thrust to increase our brand presence across the globe as the Emmy’s is regarded and seen by millions in different countries,” said Tanduay president Lucio “Bong” Tan.
Game of Thrones, Killing Eve, and Better Call Saul is expected to battle it out for the drama series category, while Veep, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Barry are being touted as the front runners for the comedy series category. Last year, Game of Thrones and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won for their respective categories.
Apart from the TV awards show, Tanduay has also partnered with the Brooklyn Nets and NBA champions Golden State Warriors while also placing ad spots in NBA games—the first Filipino brand to do so.
Tanduay Rum is the world’s number 1 rum, according to Drinks International. It is also the world’s number seven spirit. Tanduay has received numerous awards, the most recent of which are honors from the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).
Tanduay Rum is manufactured by Tanduay Distillers, Inc., which is celebrating its 165th year in the Philippines this 2019.
